Hehe, it was a really slow boring day at work, and I got inspired to do some wiki-ing ;)
Rafiki 20:34, 21 May 2004 (CEST)

Wow, lots of updates, must be really slow and boring at work

--Jpd 15:35, 17 Jun 2004 (CEST)

Thanks. The article is a revamp of the FAQ that I had posted in the tech support forum, at Castellon's request. ;)

Hi, Rafiki. I've been working on strengthening the readability and researching content for the HOI2/Mod/Events page for over 12 hours now. Why did you indicate that te forums are _the_ place to seek help? I was adding content. I wasn't asking anyone for help. So, If one may ask, why did you revert some/all of my hard work in trying to contribute something to the HOI2 community, Rafiki? How might one chat with you in real time?

I've seen the work you're doing, and I think it's pretty good, with fixing up the language, cleaning up the writing and all.

Thank you, Rafiki. I'm currently trying to find where the EVT_X_NAME and EVT_X_DESC strings are stored, and the meaning of style = x, and the replacement set for "x", so that I can explain it on the Modding wiki.

The text you've written says "feel free to message me", but who "me" is is unclear, and exactly how to message the person in question is also unclear, and I therefore considered it to be more advisable to point people with unanswered questions towards the forums, since there's usually quite a few people there who can and will help :)

Thank you for giving more of the text that caused you confusion regarding the "...me.", Rafiki. There have been two major contributors to that wiki page, with me as the third. With the new info that you gave me, I have determined that "me" refers to one Henrik Fåhraeus. I am not the originator of that page, nore a major contributor. The two folks whose names I have left untouched are those.

And last but not least, I have not reverted all your hard work.

I checked for that at the time, and it appeared to me at the time, that it was 100% reverted. I didn't search as diligently as I should have. I am sorry that I accused you of 100% revision, especially without having checked adequately.

I rewrote part of one sentence, from a collection of more changes/additions than I'm able to count in a short while.

I did a version comparison, and identified your change as a beneficial one, changing the "me" of Mr. Fåhraeus, to point to the forums, instead. I am glad that you made that change, and have reverted to your version.

As for chatting with me in realtime, that's hard these days, since I'm very much on diaper duty ;) I do use MSN and Yahoo Messenger, so if any of those are options, feel free to e-mail me your ID, my address being "victoria (at) nsen.ch"

I'm on metaphorical "diaper duty" too, virtually all the time, with five AD(H)D children, ages 5-14, until school starts again. I'm also and home-schooling the 14 year-old, who, atm, is building and scripting in Second Life ( http://www.secondlife.com ). It is owned by a group of very successful techies. One of them is Phillip Rosedale, co-founder of RealNetworks. Another is Mitch Kapor, one of the two founders (the techie half of the team) of Lotus Development Corporation. It, and, they are *wonderful*! I have no money, but if I did, *I'd" want to invest with them!

(And you could've just used my usertalk-page at HOI2Wiki, since this is HOI2-stuff,

I looked, couldn't find you anywhere but here, looked again, failed again, so used here. (/me whispers consipiratorially: "We have to stop meeting like this", hehe!)

but I check both wikis pretty regularly, so no worries)

I'm glad of that!  :-)

Perhaps we could find some more appropriate way of communicating with each other.

New printer friendly charts for 1.3a

I have made new printer friendly charts for aircraft, divisions, naval vessels and government slider settings for HoI 2 version 1.3a.

I would like to publish them here, along with a small modification for movement rate. I can't publish anything at Paradox-Forum, because I only posted 24 times and so I have limited rights there. John Heidle told me to ask you.

I see that this site is a tidy one. So I don't want to mess it up. Can you give me a tip where to publish? Do you allow me to publish at Wiki-HoI2?

Thank you.

Granatenwerfer

Sure thing; publish wherever you deem suitable. You can e.g write about the mod in its own article and link it from this page, while you can upload the charts at this page and link them from here.
In general, anything that can be of use for people playing or modding HOI2 is welcome here. My permission is not needed at all. If you "mess something up", chances are that others will see it and help bring it together again, and you can edit anything yourself afterwards if you think there's a better way of doing it. The chance of damaging anything beyond repair by accident is so remote as to be negligible. Rafiki 15:11, 25 December 2005 (CET)

Thank you very much Rafiki. How do I create new page at vhoi2.nsen.ch ? It seems to be I may only create a new page at media?

I have a question about the Main Page, and as it is locked for edition I post here. Is it WAD that clicking on the pictures on the down of the page sends to the Image page instead of the appropriate game Wiki?

Walen 10:57, 5 July 2006 (CEST)
WAD regards to how the software (mediawiki) has been put together, not WAD as how I'd like it to be. Worst thing is that it worked in previous versions, but after the last upgrade, having images as links to external pages became a no-go. The text links under each picture work, tho' (small consolation, I know) Rafiki 23:36, 5 July 2006 (CEST)

That is why I ask, I'd swear it used to work properly. Anyway I hope it gets fixed with the next software update.

Deletion

Dunno how deletion works on this wiki - could you delete Military Units as a duplicate of Military Units & Your Army Strategy? Thanks! The Land 10:46, 23 July 2006 (CEST)

Done Rafiki 20:07, 23 July 2006 (CEST)
Hum, needed a do-over, but should be fine now. It seems that the wiki doesn't like article names that contain '&', so I renamed the article and updated the link. FYI, only admins (i.e. me) can (un)delete articles, so you did The Right Thing in notifying me :-) Rafiki 20:25, 23 July 2006 (CEST)
Thanks! I assumed you had administrative privileges ;-) As it happens, I'm a wikipedia admin, so am proud to have been involved in a deletion procedure on this wiki as well. The Land 23:33, 23 July 2006 (CEST)

Main Page

Hi Rafiki, hope you are doing well after all these years of Victoria. Two questions: how long do you plan on maintaining VickyWiki? Also, would you grant me access to edit the main page? The Victoria link is broken, but if you want to do the Main Page edits yourself I certainly understand. Regards. Damion 00:16, 12 March 2008 (CET)

I have no plans to stop maintaining VickyWiki. Even though I don't frequent the Vicky forums any more, nor do I play the game much these days, maintaining this wiki doesn't cost much in neither time nor money, so it's something I intend to keep going. As for the main page, I prefer to keep it protected. Spammers have shown interest in this wiki on several occasions, and I imagine getting their garbage on the main page itself would be a nice prize for them :-/ However, do feel free to make note of suggested changes on its talk-page; I usually check the wiki at least once each day or two, and I'm happy for any and all suggestions to make it better. And relating to that; thanks for the work you've been doing on the wiki lately; it is very welcome and appreciated :-) – Rafiki (talk) (help) 09:02, 12 March 2008 (CET)
