True Regional Powers (40-79 IC)
I belive that sticking Spain, Poland, and potentially Canada into the same catagory as say, Bulgaria, is quite wrong considering the fact that these nations are far more than twice as powerful as 20-39 IC powers. Italy also doesn't belong in the big leagues but would fit in this catagory. Powers with 0-19 IC would be micros. 20-39 would be minors. 40-79 would be regionals. 80+ would be majors/super powers.
- I've made the change, but we need to check with every nation to be sure it is now in the right category. Not sure an easy way to do this check. --Musides 19:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Main Categories
Without question, the three biggest sections from HoI2 were Strategy, Reference, and Mods. HoI2 had three other areas on the main page (utilities, links, and technical help), but they were architecturally different from the three main categories. The EU3 Wiki essentially follows the format of just three main categories. I think we could do the same here. We could incorporate the other bits of content in other ways. --Musides 02:19, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- 3 categories seems fine to me. "Country Guides" could be part of Strategy, and we can put a quicklink to it, for easier access. With the same argument, "Mod Guide" could be part of Mods, as this is not really as important to be on the main page. Those that will use it (modders) know where to look. Community Portal could then be incorporated into a general welcome-text-blurb. Take a look at mainpageproposed, and see what you think! Safferli 14:28, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Coloring
The current main page (8/5/2009) is the result of a poll on the HoI3 forum. Out of three choices (A, B, and C) choice C won with 58% of the total vote, with choice A coming in second place with 31% of the vote, and choice B with 11% of the vote. Commonly discussed was the color scheme, with a general consensus to go all grey, while not over doing it with total grey. --Musides 22:12, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Table fix
For some browsers (Safari, Firefox, Opera) the while table in the center has some alignment issues. Can anyone look at the code and offer a fix? --Musides 19:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
1.2 Patch Torrent
Someone was kind enough to upload the 1.2 patch to torrent, since gamersgate is going slow and there are NO other mirrors at this time: Link to 1.2 patch torrent

Number of Articles?
I think it would be interesting to put the number of articles somewhere on the front page; many wikis do this. You can use {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} to do so.
1.3 is out
Better update the banner of home page.
1.4 is out
Better update the banner of home page, maybe add the update log somewhere too?
Template: Main Page
I made a template for your consideration available in the link above. I modeled it off of this, which was modeled off of this. I can finish it with your input if you like. --Doink9731 21:56, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Continue Support For Vanilla?
Do we plan to keep around separate sections/articles for Vanilla, or only the latest Semper Fi version? --Evil4Zerggin 04:17, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- My general thought/expectation is that any HoI3 players will move to Semper Fi. I think should stick with just one article. I think a reasonable scenario is where content is integrated in some way (e.g. "In Semper Fi it is possible to create land convoys between contiguous provinces"). As a general rule, however, I think it is better to get rid of the vanilla content if there is a conflict. For the unit statistic pages, for example, I think we should just replace the content with the updated stats from Semper Fi. What do you think?--Musides 13:59, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
For my part I agree with you--much less trouble that way, and I feel that Semper Fi will quickly make vanilla an obsolete experience. --Evil4Zerggin 03:49, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
