Trade Restrictions

This is a province event in which resistance is received from strict trade policies in the colonies.


The following conditions must be met for the event to fire:

  • One has the country flag, American Revolution.
  • One's Merchantilis/Free Trade slider is set to -1 or lower.
  • USA must not exist.
    • USA cores must not exist any 1 of the following provinces:
    • Pennacook
    • Abnaki
    • massachusets
    • Connecticut
    • Manahttan
    • Unami
    • Lenape
    • Susquehanna
    • Delaware
    • Manahoac
    • Powhatan
    • Pamlico
    • Tuscarora
    • Chreaw
    • Santee
    • Mustkogee
    • Catawba


The mean time to happen for this event is 24 months.

  • Mercantilism/Free Trade slider set to -3 decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Mercantilism/Free Trade slider set to -4 decreases MTTH by 30%.
  • Mercantilism/Free Trade slider set to -5 or lower decreases MTTH by 50%.
  • The National Idea Shrewd Commerce Practice decreases MTTH by 20%..


Option 1: Let the military handle this

  • Revolt in any 6 colonies with USA cores.
  • Set Province Modifier, "Military Reinforcement" for 120 days with the following effects:
    • Province manpower modifier increased 30%.
    • Province colonist cost increased 10%.

Option 2: Restrict exports

  • Set Country Modifier, "Export Restrictions" for 120 days with the following effects:
    • Overseas income decreases 8%.
    • Merchant complete chance decreases 20%.
    • Merchant Placement chance decreases 20%
