Talk:Muscovy strategy

I'm not a fan of Deus Vult for any Eastern nation as a first idea, because the Eastern cavalry are so considerably superior to your own that you run the risk of a defeat via morale. Military Drill is, I find at least, a much better idea for Muscovy. One thing that also might be worth looking into early on would be to go south into Crimea instead of east when the Kazan/Crimea alliance attacks. Crimea's upper two provinces don't have forts to start with, so they're easy to take and hold to use as bases against Kazan and the Timurids as well.

Also, be very careful of an early war with the Timurids. Unless you catch them at the perfect time (when they're fighting Qara Koyunlu), you'll lose far too much for whatever you might gain. MattC 02:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
