HttT Demo restrictions/oddities

Until the full version has been released I guess people will be playing the official demo to get a feel for the final product, at least I know I have been.
So far I have noticed that you don't seem to be able to save the game.
At least not manually and unfortunately my game crashed because I was fiddling around too much before an autosave should have occured.
Speaking of crashes, what I did to make it crash was to enter "infamy" in the console.
Apparently the demo didn't like that.
I was hoping it would be a valid way to influence the new infamy-meter, but at least it did nothing more than crash for me in the demo.
What I was really looking for was some way to increase the legitimacy-meter, so if anyone finds a way, please don't forget to put that information in here somewhere.

I can now confirm that there are no functioning autosaves in the demo.
I have not seen any possibility of loading any saved games either.
This of course very much limits the possibilities of playing around with the internals through the demo and makes any crashed game unrecoverable.

It is an intended limitation of the demo that you are unable to save ;-)

Casus belli

While I laud the efforts of anyone who takes the time to add information about the upcoming expansion to the wiki, I think it would be better to keep the number of HTTT casus belli examples here to a minimum, and expand/update the Casus belli article instead. Agree? -- Junuxx (talk) 03:00, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Agree, but I thought that project would probably not be done until the game is fully released.
I thought it would be a good idea to have some of the key differences to previous expansions listed as soon as possible for when people are looking for information on whether or not they want to get it.
Because the examples contain so much text it does currently make the article look a bit lopsided, but that should rather be fixed by adding more text to the other sections.  ;-)
The ones I chose were chosen to have one represent the old system, one for how the new system ties in with the increased capabilities of the Holy Roman Emperor and lastly the newest most radical one I could think of.
Eventually there should be a separate list of every casus belli in the new system, which preferably should be sortable by effects if possible.

Describe installation process?

Every time I install EU3 with expansions I have been wishing that there would be described somewhere exactly what to install and apply.
Maybe it could be described here in the article for last expansion or even give it its own page ("Installation process"/"Installing"/"Maintenance" for example)?
I always install vanilla EU3, patch it up to current patch, install NA followed by its' current patch and finally IN followed by its' current patch.
Now I will also install HttT and apply any future patches, which means four installs and three or four patches.
Are the patches for intermediate expansions required?
Should one apply patches for vanilla or previous expansions if they get released after applying higher version expansions?
It does feel silly to raise this question after all this time, but I think there probably are others out there who would like to have this authoritatively documented finally.

There's no need to install any patches for outdated products. NA contains all the patches to vanilla, IN contains all patches to NA. -- Junuxx (talk) 21:27, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I guess anyone wondering enough will go look at the talk-pages, so maybe that settles it then. B9AcE 21:45, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
