I might be remembering this wrong, but in one of my games as England when the Great Britain unification event fired I lost my English cores in the new world and had to wait the normal time again for them to become cores of GB. Need to play another game and see if that happens again...Sanjuro

Well, the test I did wasn't the natural way, but I didn't lose any cores when I as England fired the Great Britain event in 1453 (by using the cheat). If you were correct I should have lost my cores on Gascogne, Normandie, Caux and Calais. Nordenadler 18:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
