Talk:Country guides
From EU3 Wiki
Should Castille be specified as the strategy link while other nations are listed as their potential names? (e.g. Russia instead of Muscowy)
Perhaps there can be sub categories under each heading? Spain instead of Castille, with Castille and Aragon as specifics within that?
If there winds up being a lot of strategy entries, a thorough tree structure might be needed; culture group (latin) -> region (Iberia / France / HRE / Italy / Britain / Scandinavia) -> Countries (alphabetical, with guides to what needs to be accomplished to create the formable nations)
(new author) It would be nice with a concensus on how this is done - both the index and the actual guides. Setting up a standard for the contents would also make it a little more appealing to make new guides I think.
- Since the game can start any day this is obviously a problem. Not so much if one plays England->GB, since it's pretty much the only country that can become GB. (Can Scotland?) But if playing Leon, or Aragon, or Navarre or whatnot, they all stand a chance to form Spain, even if Castile did it historically. In these cases, I propose: Castile strategy guide (for example) talks about everything Castile-related, including how to form Spain with it. The Spain guide, however, will talk about playing Spain as if one started a new game as Spain. Sounds OK? The details will have to be fleshed out, and a sample provided, probably, but this is just an outline for now, I think. Miborovsky 06:03, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- PS. And a little clarification: I didn't know Russia wasn't a playable nation in 1453... Muscovy pretty much = Russia to me. Miborovsky 06:05, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- The Russia event by in large comes down to Novgorod eats Muscovy or Muscovy eats Novgorod. To the survivor goes the title. Probably guides for both Muscovy and Novgorod will only need to go as far as "become Russia"
The way this page looks now is quite confusing. For example Teutonic Order which is in Latint techgroup here is listed as Eastern due to geography. How about sorting them all basing on their tech group instead of their location? --Delra 19:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
i have noticed something about the late game recommendations for the European superpowers. They are all the same, just with different late game competitors. is there a way that we could lump them into a late game strategy page rather than in the country guides?
i think the specific events strategy area should work nicely for that
[edit] Conquests
The conquests section really isn't country specific in the same way that every other link from this page is. The Conquests are about taking someone else not about which country you play. We have a couple of them updated to remove who it is taking them, and if we make them more generic they can apply to everyone. The only difference would be the order and whether or not to do it with a specific country. I think they should be forked as a new page and linky from the main page. Then move up unifications as a top level link. Sneezinglion 04:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Written revolutionary countries
I've written Revolutionary countries, and I put it in Country guides... I dunno if this is the right place to put it, and if the category is right... but if you can edit it, to all's pleasure, and place it the right places, then I will be happy :-) --Pinjerro 17:20, 15 November 2007 (CET)
