Rifts in the Alliance

This is a Province event in which rifts form in the Hanseatic League.


The following conditions must be met for the event to fire:

  • one has the National idea Shrewd Commerce Practice.
  • One's neighbor is a member of the Hanseatic League and with whom one's relation is below 60.
  • The year is not yet 1600.
  • one has not had this event before.


The mean time to happen for this event is 240 months.

  • Having a neighbor who is a member and with whom one's relation is below 40 decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Having a monopoly decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Not having a monopoly increases MTTH by 10%.
  • Trade efficiency of 40% decreases MTTH by 20%.
  • Trade efficiency of 50% decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Trade efficiency of 60% decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Trade efficiency of 70% decreases MTTH by 20%.
  • Trade efficiency of 80% decreases MTTH by 30%.
  • Having at least 1 Port City decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Having the National idea Merchant Adventures decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Not having the National idea Merchant Adventures increases MTTH by 10%.


Option 1: Assemble a meeting

  • The AI has a 70% chance of selecting this option.
  • Stability increases by 1 point.
  • Relations with any Hanseatic League member increases by 50.


Option 2: There are better investments

  • The AI has a 30% chance of selecting this option.
  • Stability decreases by 1 point.
  • Relations with any Hanseatic League member decreases by 50.
