Papal State

This is an event that releases the Papal States after Rome has been annexed by another country.


The following conditions must be met for the event to fire:

  • Papal States or Italy must not already exist.
  • One must not have declined the event previously.
  • One must own Rome.
  • One must be Catholic.


The mean time to happen for this event is 2 months.

  • Deus Vult and Divine Supremacy National ideas decrease the MTTH by 5%.
  • Not having Divine Supremacy national idea increases the MTTH by 5%.
  • Being Sole Defender of the Faith or having a theologian advisor decreases MTTH by 10%.
  • Not being defender of the faith or having a theologian advisor increases MTTH by 10%.


Option 1: We will never support such a state

  • Decrease Prestige by 2%.
  • Increase Badboy by 1.
  • Decrease Stability by 1.
  • Lower relations to any Catholic neighbour by 20.


Option 2: Rome is rightfully theirs

  • Cede Rome to the Papal States.
  • Increase Prestige by 2.5%
