In this history\diplomacy folder you will find text files defining the different types of diplomacy for all countries in the game through times. For example:

alliance = { - The type of diplomacy. The different types are union, vassal, alliance, and royal_marriage.

first = SCO - The first country, who would control the second country in a vassal or union.

second = NOR - The second country, who would be controlled by the first country in a vassal or union.

start_date = 1326.1.1 - When this starts.

end_date = 1560.1.1 - When this ends.
