Discovery of the East Indian trade route

To trigger this, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Be in the Latin Technology group
  • Have the National idea Quest for the New World
  • Mercantilism/Free Trade slider is -3 or less (i.e., close to Mercantilism)
  • Have at least 4 coastal province cities
  • Discover province 1460 - Cape of Good Hope
  • Own 1 of the following provinces:
    • 400 - Muscat
    • 529 - Dadra
  • At least one of the following provinces must be a Center of Trade that is not owned by you:
    • 529 - Dadra
    • 559 - Bihar
    • 630 - Sunda
    • 667 - Guangzhou


The benefits for meeting these conditions are:

  • Trade income modifier increases by 20% yearly
  • Prestige increases by 2% yearly
