Also called "Force-Annex" and is the first of three ways to seize territory. The other two are Diplo-Annex,Turbo-annex and defection.

Annex is a diplomatic option on the Peace negotiation screen for ending a war with a one-province country or for ceding an entire pagan country to you.

If accepted, this gives you the capital of the one-province country or the entire nation of the pagan.

The penalty is several badboys and depends on the situation:

  • Force-Annex a country with a core on their capital in a peace settlement : 3 BB
  • Force-Annex a country without a core on their capital in a peace settlement : 6 BB
  • Force-Annex a pagan country without a core on its capital : 5 BB (flat value, is not influenced by the number of provinces you take)
  • Force-Annex a pagan country with a core on its capital : 2 BB

Annexing is perceived as an hostile act by the other countries which share religion with the country you have added to your empire. Therefore, the relation between you and these countries will drop.

I don't know how much your relations drop, maybe 20 points? I've noticed no drop in relations with other countries of that religion in my games. Possible bug.
